ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE

What is organizational change?

Organizational change is a discipline that enables individuals, teams, and organizations to successfully adopt change.

It uses a structured approach—and knowledge from the behavioral sciences, social sciences, information technology, and business—to help organizations implement change smoothly and achieve lasting benefits from it.

Change management is still a relatively new field, but it’s captured our attention and the attention of other academics and practitioners who have, together, studied it over the last 20 years.

These studies have helped us understand how people and organizations experience change, as well as which approaches are most effective in helping people move from the current state to the desired one.

While conceptually simple, achieving the business value that comes from the accelerated adoption of change, requires a validated approach, the right skills, and years of day-by-day practice.
