Our Story

The COVID-19 pandemic era requires organizations to rethink the integration of their structure, processes and people to support their new strategy, and the new ways of working. Organizational redesign is a transformative initiative that goes well beyond an arrow to this, and a dotted line here.

The largest global food and agriculture organization with over $114 billion in revenue, and 160,000 employees across 70 countries, knew it needed to transform its finance strategy to better support their people and position themselves for growth.

The Challenge

The client’s Finance Transformation Office had plans to evolve their finance strategy including the transition of approximately 1,000 global employees to new teams and create new ways of working by 2025.

Eager to embark on a transformation, they asked Pioneer to activate a seamless and successful shift – all while keeping costs flat, maintaining business continuity, and keeping customers and employees engaged.

Our Approach

At Pioneer, we do more than consult. We partner. Our approach to business transformation is value-oriented and human-centered. While we work to understand business objectives and design for the future, we are intentional to bring employees along at every step of the journey.

We remain flexible and nimble by monitoring activities, analyzing data, and course-correcting as necessary - all while ensuring teams maintain strong business service throughout.

This transformation began with:

  • Identifying and aligning key stakeholders

  • Interim leadership for supplementary support during the transformation

  • Strategic program management

By facilitating leadership alignment across workstreams and functions, all teams were on the same timeline with clear priorities. Defining roles and responsibilities ensured project accountability and expediency.

Talent was transitioned and leadership requisitions were filled while managing corresponding activities, including human resources system data changes.

Finally, we fostered a culture of change resilience with comprehensive tools and resources that empowered managers to lead and employees to communicate and connect through change.

Exceptional Results

In just nine months, we transitioned over 1,000 employees to new or interim organizations, fulfilled over 45 leadership requisitions, re-organized and transitioned two organizations, and stood up three teams.

Our ability to execute the strategy, while utilizing change management best practices means ensured business continuity for the client – all while positioning their business for a brighter future.

The Pioneer team does a great job tracking action items and holding people accountable to commitments. They go above and beyond to help make the team successful, even compensating for other contractors at times to help hit deliverables.

— CLIENT STAKEHOLDER

Pioneer has been our constant on the Finance Transformation and has really held the team and project together. They understand expectations, deliverables, easily make connections so the work is high quality, with little information from me. We can chalk the field together and they can just go. I really appreciate and value that!
